Contributing

OT Fabric is open source and contributions are welcome, written by you, your AI agent or both of you.

Open an issue on the repository it concerns. For a protocol problem, the most useful report includes:

  • the device or stack on the other end (vendor, model, firmware) where you can share it
  • the exact command or code you ran
  • the output with --debug or a packet capture, with anything sensitive removed
  1. Fork the repository and create a branch.
  2. Keep the change focused, and add or update tests. Protocol changes should pass the repository’s interop suite (make interop where available).
  3. Open a pull request that explains what changed and how you tested it.

Our repositories are written to be easy for coding agents to work in. Agents are welcome to do the implementation work; a person still owns every pull request and reviews it before it is submitted. Hold agent-written code to the same bar as your own: it needs tests, it needs to interoperate, and you need to understand it.

Please do not report security vulnerabilities in public issues. Use GitHub’s private vulnerability reporting on the affected repository.
